In 2008, 2009, and 2010, CFL was honoured to learn that it has been recognized as one of a selct few EnviroVista Leaders in the entire province of Alberta. The EnviroVista Environmental Leadership Program, Alberta Environment’s voluntary program to recognize and promote corporate environmental leadership, honours facility operators who “make the environment a priority in their work by going beyond the standards set out in their approvals.”

To receive this recognition, a facility must have an audited environmental management system; sound emissions performance, illustrated through compliance at a level greater than 99.5 percent; and a sound record of environmental compliance. That record must include five years with no Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act (EPEA) or Water Act prosecutions, Enforcement Orders, Environmental Protection Orders, Administrative Penalties, or Warning Letters, as well as no outstanding notices of investigations from Alberta Environment under the EPEA or Water Act. CFL is proud of this important recognition of its strong commitment to protecting Alberta’s environment.
