Canadian Fertilizers Limited in the Community

Russ Holowachuk, vice president and general manager of Canadian Fertilizers Limited, has spent his entire career in the fertilizer industry. Today, he manages Canada’s largest nitrogen fertilizer complex in Medicine Hat.

He received his Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Saskatchewan at the Saskatoon campus. Following graduation, he worked at a potash fertilizer facility in Saskatoon before joining Canadian Fertilizers in 1976, the year the complex began operations.

Russ lives in the Medicine Hat community and has been very active in various civic and charitable organizations. He is currently a director of the Catholic School Foundation. His past involvement includes the YMCA (president), the Medicine Hat Community Foundation (director), and Design and Building (chairman) for the new Holy Family Church in Medicine Hat.

At the national level, he is a director of the Canadian Fertilizer Institute and is currently chairman of the institute’s Board of Directors.
